Foundation Humanitarian Awards

 

Year 2015-2016 Foundation Recognition's for Humanitarian Service 

 

For the Rotary year 2015-2016, there will be three or four recognition's presented by the Rotary District 5420 Foundation Committee to Rotary clubs which exemplify outstanding humanitarian service and meet the qualifications set forth.  Each recognition will emphasize the good the Rotary club has done in the previous Rotary year and demonstrate the capability Rotary clubs have in helping to fulfill the mission statement of The Rotary Foundation, which is, "THE MISSION OF THE ROTARY FOUNDATION of Rotary International is to enable Rotarian's to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty".  In other words, "It is NOT how much more we can give.  It IS how much MORE GOOD in the world we can do by being more generous". All per capita figures will be based on the July 1st club membership figure of that Rotary year.  The recognition qualifications will be as follows:

 

Exemplary Rotary Club of the Year for Support to The Rotary Foundation

 

The Exemplary Rotary Club of the Year for Support to The Rotary Foundation will be presented to the Rotary Club that has the best overall gifting performance and participation for the year in supporting The Rotary Foundation.  To qualify, a Rotary club must have each member be at least a Sustaining Member to the annual Fund, have increased member per capita giving to the Annual Fund by at least one penny over the previous year, have the highest combined total for giving to the Annual Fund, (with member per capita giving over $100 for the year), Polio Plus (with member per capita giving of over $32 for the year),  and  Approved Global Grants.  The Rotary club must financially support the Endowment Fund.  The Rotary club must also participate in or support a District Grant and a Global Grant.  The Rotary club must also have the President-Elect at PETS and have the club foundation chair or a representative in attendance in the foundation session at the district assembly.  There must be evidence that the Rotary club emphasizes gifting for Paul Harris Fellows and PHF multiples, the Paul Harris Society and Major Donors.  The Rotary club must also educate club members as to the higher giving levels of gifting including the Arch Klumph Society, Trustee Circle, Chairs Circle and the Foundation Circle.

 

For 2014-2015 the award goes to the South Jordan Club with a whopping comibined total contribution of $728.57.

 

 

Rotary Club of the Year for Support to the Annual Fund and

Polio Plus of The Rotary Foundation

 

The Rotary Club of the Year for Support to the Annual Fund and Polio Plus will be presented to the Rotary Club that has the highest member giving per capita for the total of the Annual Fund and Polio Plus.  The club receiving this award must have a member per capita giving to the Annual Fund of over $100 per member and have a member per capita giving to Polio Plus of at least $32 per member. 

 

Best Improved Rotary Club of the Year for support to

the Annual Fund and Polio Plus of The Rotary Foundation

 

The Best Improved Rotary Club of the Year Award will be presented to the Rotary club that has the highest percent of improvement over the previous year for total giving to the Annual Fund and Polio Plus.  The Rotary club receiving this award must have member per capita giving to the Annual Fund of at least $100 per member for both the prior and current year, plus have member per capita giving to Polio Plus of at least $32 per member for both the prior and current year.

 

For the 2014-2015 year the awards is presented to the Sugar House Rotary Club with a increase in giving of 120.8%.

 

 

 

Best Rotary Club of the Year for Support to the

Endowment Fund of The Rotary Foundation

 

The Endowment Fund Award will be presented to the Rotary Club which has the highest member per capita gifting total to The Rotary Foundation Endowment Fund.  This award will take into consideration the total of gifts to the Endowment Fund such as cash gifts, bequests, insurance, estate planning gifts and so on.  The gifts must be irrevocable.
