DICTIONARY PROJECT

Our Club 3rd Annual Dictionary Project is well under way. This year we have committed to give dictionaries to all the 3rd Graders in the Alpine School District within our club boundaries.

Also new this year is the opportunity for partnering with businesses within our communities to have them sponsor a school - or schools by donating the cost of the dictionaries for each student and teacher in the 3rd Grade. This has helped to facilitate giving out over 3100 dictionaries over the next couple of months.

We would like to recognize the businesses that have contributed to the Dictionary Project.

Since we have 25 schools within our club boundaries and currently only 11 are sponsored by local businesses, we are still looking for business sponsorships. If you are interested, you can contact Glenn Smith at 801-763-9660, or AFRotaryClub@afconnect.com. I will forward your request to the appropriate chair for this project. If you have a specific school that you are interested in, please let us know and we will let you know if it is available. On average, the cost to sponsor a school is less that $300.

2ND ANNUAL ROTARY CLUB OF AMERICAN FORK GOLF TOURNAMENT

On the 23rd of September, we will hold our 2nd Annual Rotary Golf Tournament. Last year, our first year was a HUGE success. We had 19 teams and played at the Tri-Cities Golf Course. We will play at the same course this year.

If you are at all interested in playing a round of golf for a good cause, please contact Pauline Webber, Chair at webpau@wfrmls.com. We are still looking for teams, hole sponsors, and prizes to be awarded at the end of the tournament. ***********************************
