The Park City Rotary Club is committed to fulfilling the Rotary motto of "Service above Self."  

The following is a list of recent projects:

Club Service

. Weekly Speakers and Programs covering a wide range of local, regional, state, and national issues
. Welco ssages
. Sergeants at Arms
. Orientations/Firesides for new mbers
. Club Bulletin - "The Mogul" - published weekly in print and via e-mail.
. Holiday Party/Ski Days/Off-sites/Induction dinner - periodic etings in a social or activity format involving spouses and guests.
. mbership - Maintain mbership at a stable level, diversify mbership, and lower the average age of mbers.
. Started a second Rotary Club - the Park City Sunrise Club - and jointly support so projects.

Community Service

. Miner's Day - The Park City Rotary Club organizes a community-wide celebration of Labor Day with a parade and a lunchti picnic in the park that includes gas and prizes for kids, great food, and entertainnt.  St. Mary's Catholic Church adds to the occasion with a pancake breakfast in the park, and the Park City Mountain Resort kicks off the occasion with sunrise cannon fire.  And to honor the history of mining in Park City, the club sponsors a "mucking and drilling" contest.
. Highway Clean Up "Adopt a Highway"  (Early Fall/Late Sumr and Late Spring/Early Sumr)
. Paint and Clean Project - Each year the club chooses a senior citizen's ho in need of help and works to make needed improvents such as lawn and ho maintenance and painting.
. Rotary Park - The club built a small pocket park with facilities for family and other group gatherings.  We are looking for a location for a second park.
. Fundraising for Cancer Research - We are working with the Huntsman Cancer Institute to earn funds for the HCI and for the club's granting project.  The club has provided mbers to serve on the planning committee for the event, which will include a ball race down Main Street.
. Sub for Santa - The club, in cooperation with other community agencies, and with the help of the Park City High School Interact Club, assists with a number of needy families in the community.
. Volunteer Recognition - The club cooperates with the Park City Education Foundation to honor Volunteers of the Year for each Park City public school.
. Youth Learn-to-Ski Program - Work with the Park City School District and a number of local businesses and all three ski resorts to provide needy youth in grades 6 - 12 with an opportunity to have appropriate clothing, equipnt, and instruction to learn to ski.  The program culminates with open "ski with Rotarian" days allowing the new skiers to have experienced ntors on the mountain.
. Publicity - The Park City Rotary Club activities are frequently covered by local dia, and an article on the ski program has been submitted to the "Rotarian."

International Service

. Millet School - Worked in cooperation with the Park City School District and the St. Lucia Rotary Club to provide a computer lab for The Millet School on St. Lucia.
. Group Study Exchange - The club hosts group study exchange groups.
. Student Exchange - The club welcos Rotary exchange students to town for a ski and balloon weekend and has hosted several exchange students in the past few years.
. Polio Plus - The club provided "iron lung" presentations to local schools and gave them a chance to donate to the Polio Plus campaign.  This project was conducted in cooperation with the Park City Sunrise Club and the Interact Club at Park City High School.
. Rotary International Foundation - The club promotes the Paul Harris Fellows Program.
. The Hope Alliance - The club contributes to this Park City-based group that assists developing nations with projects that improve health care and self-sufficiency.

Vocational Service

. Citizen of the Year: Professional (fall) and Volunteer (spring)- These awards are given after a community-wide nomination process.  They are highly valued by the recipients and well covered by local dia.
. Reality Town - Rotary Club mbers assist the school district with staffing this program to provide middle school students with real life experiences with jobs, families, investnts, and handling a budget.
. Park City Education Foundation Scholarships - The Rotary Club donates a four-year scholarship each year to a graduating senior.  The award is based on service to the community.
. Jump-In - This is a leadership training program for youth in the community.  Park City Rotary Club mbers developed the program and continue to assist with yearly funding and other assistance.
. Leadership 2000 - The City of Virginia Beach started this program to train adults in the community to beco community leaders.  mbers of the Park City Rotary Club were involved in starting the program, the club has contributed to the program yearly, and many club mbers have participated.
. Interact Club - The club sponsors the Park City High School Interact Club, and a club mber serves as co-advisor with a teacher at the school.
. RYLA - The club sponsors several students from the Park City High School Interact Club to attend the state or national RYLA conference.
